YOU DON'T NEED A SUPERMAN WHEN YOU'RE A WONDERWOMAN

22 August 2017

Let's talk. Summer is almost over and for some, this means going to highschool for the first time or going back to school. For others it could mean, starting with your new job or just going back to work. For me, it means going back to University, finish my Master Criminal law and start with a new one in February at another University (I'm so excited!!).

I think it's important to set goals. Because then, you've made a purpose for yourself to motivate you to only do better. Why wait every first of January to make new year resolutions if you can also start TODAY. In the next upcoming four weeks I'm going to work on my body and my mind. It's important to clear your mind from all the negativity that we deal with on a day to day basis. I've decided to relax more and don't stress about getting really high grades. If I get them it's great, but if not, than that's not the end of the world. The reason why I've always want and wanted to get high grades has to do with my past. I personally loved highschool. I had a really good time with fellow students and there was a good atmosphere going on. BUT, when it comes to my teachers that's a whole other story. Some of them (the 'important' ones, who make big decisions for a students future) did bully me, at least I felt bullied. That was really rough.

They would always assume that people with a non-European appearance aren't smart enough and capable to go to University. Whenever I got high grades, they would even ask me if I cheated. So it was important to me to get high grades because that was my anchor. I could fall back on them and tell them they where wrong. So back then I made a decision, I would ask myself the following question. Is what she/he is saying true? Important for me right now? Helpful and with good intent? if not, than I would not listen and give a F*&c. Because it would only bring me down for now reason. So since I could not change their behaviour towards me, I choose to just focus on passing and not let them bring me down. It's easier said than done, but trust me. In a couple of years it's all over. So focus on your future and don't let anybody say you cannot do anything because you are dark skinned, Arab, Eastern European, Roma, Muslim and so on. YOU CAN DO ANYTHING! I mean, at the end of the day I graduated highschool, went to University and got my Bachelors degree in Laws! And I'm currently busy getting my Master degree in law and in science. If I can do it, you definitely can do it too! So keep your head up high, never stop dreaming what you want to achieve and make them come true!

If you have had any experiences that you would like to share, leave them in the comments below. Let's empower and support each other! The world is a beautiful place, it just needs to be polished clean with a little love.

Love you all,

-WZ-
